His Querido is an 10 year old stallion with a super pedigree, character and temperament and near perfect conformation and type. He is already shown to be a consistent foal producer with his foals winning class after class and a number declared high point and year end champion and foal futurity winners. He consistently improves conformation and type and adds a very willing easy to handle character and disposition. Trainers who have started his oldest foals are thrilled with the quality of the individuals as well as their smart and sensible character. We can’t wait to see more of them under saddle in the coming years.

PERFORMANCE: He Achieved Lifetime Breeding Approval with CWHBA and CSH after completion of the CWHBA Stallion Performance Test in 2018. Highlights from the test were an overall 8 for gaits including a 9 for the walk. The Jump riders gave him an 8.5 and 9 for Rideability and 8 and 8.5 for Jumping Technique. J.F. Santerre and Michael Pegg concurred he had very good gaits, as well as good stride length and Scope for 3’6″ Hunters and Derbies and more. We are thrilled.

Before preparing for his Performance Testing we spend considerable time developing him on the flat. His under saddle debut was as 3 year old. Esteemed judge and Olympian Peter Gray placed him first under saddle and second in hand in the very competitive Royal Winter Fair Cup Qualifier competition. There were over 35 entries in the class.

He competed under saddle in Dressage competitions at Dressage Niagara, RCRA and Palgrave with excellent scores, many 1st and 2nd placings in the Young Horse classes as well as 1st level.

6 FOAL FUTURITY WINNERS: His Querido is producing very good quality foals out of a wide variety of mares. He has produced the Ontario Foal Futurity winner in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2020 and 2022. He also produced the foal futurity winner in Saskatchewan in 2017. In 2019 and 2020 he produced the overal OPEN foal winner of the CWHBA Ontario inspection tour. He produces very good type, strong toplines, beautiful heads and lovely gaits. His foals are eligible for both the CWHBA Foal futurity program (with CW registration) and the Royal Winter Fair (with CSH registration). PEDIGREE: His Querido’s Sire is His Highness a world renowned sire with the blood combination of Hohenstein/Donnerhall/Feiner Stern. He died at a young age but not without making a significant impression on the horse world.

His Dam is the super performance mare Querida (registered as Roxelle), who successfully competed at the Prix St. George Level/I 1 and was schooling all the Grand Prix work before she was sold on as a schoolmaster for a Junior. Querida is full sister to a successful Equitation horse in the US.

LICENCING: He was presented September of 2014 to Canadian Warmblood and received compliments on his development and beautiful type. He was only 2 years old at the time, the youngest you can present a colt. He was presented to Canadian Sport Horse in July of 2016 and was high point stallion of the day with an 8 for overall impression, type and development, 8.5 for his jump and a 9 for head neck and connection. One particular comment that was memorable was the compliment on his excellent feet!!.
